Laura's Morning Semi-Green Smoothie: Blueberry-Banana Edition
Morning!
I'm a busy mama who is also trying to lose weight, be healthy, and be able to take care of my sweet baby and hubby at the same time. I've always struggled with my weight, but especially over the last couple of years when I was going through some rough stuff with my health (I'll have to write a post about that another day). Anyways, I wanted to share my "Morning Semi-Green Smoothie: Blueberry-Banana Edition" that I make. I call it "semi-green" because, once blended, the color is not actually green, but it is delicious and has 1 vegetable in it, so therefore it is "semi-green" (welcome to my weird brain). You can also put other fruit in it, instead of blueberries and bananas, and it works just the same (I might do more combos on here another day). It's packed with protein and nutrients, and keeps me full until lunch, so you know it's gotta be good! Also, I'm not being paid by Ninja or Costco or Silk, but these are the brands I use every morning and they are awesome! Also, also- a special thank you to my mother-in-law for the Ninja! We love it!
So here it is!
Laura's Morning Semi-Green Smoothie: Blueberry-Banana Edition
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt ( I use Greek Gods' Vanilla Honey)
1/4 cup Frozen Kale (My mom grows it and freezes it, but you can get it at any grocery store)
1/2 of a Frozen Banana (We just get fresh ones at the grocery store and freeze them)
1/2 cup Frozen Blueberries (Kirkland's has a nice big bag at Costco)
1 cup Coconut or Almond Milk (I use Silk, and normally do Almond Milk, but we were out)
The steps to this are pretty simple:

The steps to this are pretty simple:
- I usually put the greek yogurt on the bottom, then the kale, then the frozen fruit, then the coconut or almond milk. I'm not sure that the order really matters, but this is just what I do.
- Then you blend (you could use any blender, but I love using bullets for smoothies!)
- And enjoy! Best part of this you can drink it slowly for an hour while you're running around taking care of baby, house or work!
